Bill Cook Bill Cook - CEO
Prior to Greenplum, Bill served as Executive Vice President, Sales and Service at Penguin Computing, a high-performance computing and Linux systems vendor. Prior to Penguin Computing, Bill spent 19 years at Sun Microsystems, most recently as Senior Vice President of US Sales, in this position he led a field force of 3,500 with revenues in excess of $5 billion. Additionally while at Sun, Bill helped lead the Sun worldwide storage business unit, as well as implementing Sun's Global Account model and strategic sales organization. Previously, Bill held positions at Machine Vision International and Datapoint Corporation.

Scott Yara Scott Yara - Co-Founder and President
Prior to Greenplum, Scott served as vice president for Digital Island, a publicly traded Internet infrastructure services company that was acquired by Cable & Wireless in 2001. Scott's background includes more than 12 years of experience in helping to develop and bring to market Internet-scale, high-performance computing technologies. Prior to Digital Island, Scott served as vice president for Sandpiper Networks, an Internet content delivery services company that merged with Digital Island in 1999. At Sandpiper, Scott helped to create the industry's first content delivery network (CDN), a globally distributed computing infrastructure comprised of several thousand servers, and used by many of the industry's largest Internet services including Microsoft and Disney.

Luke Lonergan Luke Lonergan - Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Prior to Greenplum, Luke founded Didera, a database clustering company, in 2000 and served as CEO and Chairman. Luke's background includes 16 years of management experience in computing technology ranging from innovations in supercomputing to advances in medical imaging systems. Most recently, he directed data center integration at High Performance Technologies Inc (HPTi), scaling the business to $30M, and setting industry firsts in parallel computing subsequently adopted by IBM and Compaq. Previously he held management positions at Northrop Grumman Corporation. He holds an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University and a B.E. in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University.

Mike Asher Mike Asher - Chief Financial Officer
Mike joined Greenplum following a 15-year career in finance at Silicon Valley software companies. Most recently, Mike was CFO at Newscale, where he was responsible for raising over $50 million in venture funding from top firms and supporting the needs of a customer base that grew from two to over 75 companies, including many Fortune 500 companies. Mike has held executive positions in the finance departments of Octane Software, playing a key role in the company's $3.2 billion acquisition by E.piphany. He also held leadership positions at Gigalabs and Cisco Systems. Mike's strong engineering background includes a five-year tenure at Chevron Corporation in software engineering and project management roles.

Joe Otto Joe Otto - Senior VP of Worldwide Sales and Service
Prior to joining Greenplum, Joe was the Vice President of the Midwest Area for Sun Microsystems, a $1 billion sales unit focused on large enterprises across thirteen states. Previously serving as vice president of sales and marketing for Synergistics Inc., Joe grew the company's revenues more than 300 percent over two years. He also served as operations director for Cisco Systems in its Telco Operations division and spent seven years earlier in his career at Sun Microsystems, where his department was responsible for over $700 million in revenue.

Ronaldo Ama Ronaldo Ama - Senior VP of Engineering
Prior to Greenplum, Ronaldo served as Vice President of Information and Platform Services for the Product Group at SAP Business Objects. With more than 20 years of information management experience in the software industry, Ronaldo also worked for Oracle, Sybase and Informix, assisting customers select and deploy technology to manage large-scale OLTP and Data Warehouse systems. He joined Acta Technologies in early 2000, and then became part of the Business Objects Product Group as a result of the Acta acquisition in 2002. He was instrumental in growing the data integration portfolio inside the company, which then became the foundation for the Business Objects Enterprise Information Management line of business, recently acquired by SAP. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, with emphasis on database and operating systems.

Keith Budge Keith Budge - VP and GM, Asia Pacific and Japan
Prior to Greenplum, Keith was senior vice president and general manager Asia Pacific and Japan at Business Objects S.A. In this role, Keith led the growth of Business Objects in the region, recruiting talented executives, delivering double-digit growth in sales and services, and improving margins in emerging countries. Prior to Business Objects, Keith served as senior vice president of Oracle Corporation in the Asia Pacific region, where he was responsible for managing seventeen countries across the region. He held a number of top-level positions in his twelve years with Oracle Asia Pacific, including serving as regional managing director of the South Asia region and managing director of Oracle Singapore.

Elie Simon Elie Simon - VP and GM, EMEA
Elie joins Greenplum with over 25 years of leadership positions in computer systems, software, storage and RFID. Most recently, Elie was chairman of Insync Software and chairman and co-founder of Digiprice. Prior to this, Elie was the president and CEO of TAGSYS, the global leader in the design and development of RFID infrastructure for item-level asset tracking, where he was instrumental in putting the company in the Top 3 ranking of the industry. While there, he won the Ernst and Young France Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2007 and was runner-up for The Tech-Tour European Entrepreneur of the Year. Mr. Simon also held a number of executive leadership positions at Sun Microsystems, including President of the company's EMEA region, which represented more than $5 billion of Sun's annual revenue.

Frank Bien Frank Bien - VP of Business Development
Bien brings to Greenplum nearly two decades of experience in enterprise software, compliance and security and professional services, serving both the commercial as well as government sectors. Bien was most recently part of the senior executive team at compliance-focused data warehousing company SenSage, where he was vice president of Product Management and Business Development. Prior to SenSage, Bien served as vice president of Collaboration Solutions for Vignette Corporation, where he drove the sales and distribution efforts for two key product lines.

Richard Snee Richard Snee - VP of Marketing
Richard brings over 25 years of marketing and creative experience to Greenplum. Prior to Greenplum, he was responsible for the marketing efforts at IronPort, taking the email and web security company from startup in 2001 through it's acquisition by Cisco in 2007—for $830 million. In addition, Richard held leadership positions at Silicon Graphics and IBeam driving market development and technology adoption in the media industry. He is an accomplished writer, composer, director, and producer. His children’s DVD, “Mother Goose Rocks! Top 20 Countdown” won Parenting Magazine’s 2005 Video of the Year.

Charles McDevitt Charles McDevitt - Chief Architect
Charles brings more than 23 years of industry experience in software development, data warehousing, and Business Intelligence expertise to Greenplum. Most recently, Chuck served as a senior member of the technical staff at Ab Initio Software Corporation, a recognized leader in high-performance data processing. Prior to that Chuck was the CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Cogit, a provider of marketing analytic solutions. Chuck spent more than 15 years at Teradata, where as one of the first 30 employees, he was responsible for architecting and implementing major aspects of the Teradata database system.
