The appliance is powered by the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS) and PostgreSQL and delivers two orders of magnitude better price-performance over the competition. The solution combines Sun's new Sun Fire(TM) X4500 data server powered by AMD Opteron(TM) processors with Greenplum's massively parallel PostgreSQL in a single appliance capable of analyzing hundreds of terabytes of business data faster and cheaper than any product on the market.
